Who We Are

The Woodbury Scholarship Fund (WSF) was established in 1975 and incorporated as a non-profit organization on June 30, 1976. Original members include long-time Woodbury residents Margaret Baldrige, Jane Cushman, George Roberts, and Neil Yarhouse.

In 1992, the WSF voted to affiliate with the Dollars for Scholars, a program of what is now Scholarship America. While still managed entirely on the local level, membership in this national organization gives the WSF tax exempt status, access to a wide scope of scholarship information and expertise, and in some cases, the availability of matching funds.

The WSF is organized to manage endowments, annual grants and present scholarships to deserving resident post secondary education students. Through the generosity of many individuals, businesses, and other organizations, WSF scholarships have provided needed financial assistance and have been a source of valuable recognition and encouragement for academic achievement and community service. As a volunteer organization, the WSF is able to return almost all raised funds in scholarship awards.
