Established May, 2011

By the Yarhouse family and friends

Kathryn “Polly” Yarhouse was born in Pennsylvania and was graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in Political Science. She was a lifelong supporter of many social causes and community activities.

Polly held many volunteer positions in the town government of Woodbury, including Board of Finance, Charter Revision Commission, Democratic Town Committee and others. She was also involved with the League of Women Voters and the Interfaith Housing Council. In 1988, Polly became a Justice of the Peace and officiated at the weddings of dozens of couples. She worked on a variety of political campaigns in Connecticut and Massachusetts in the 1990’s.

Along with her husband, Neil, Polly welcomed many students from foreign exchange programs into their home. They enjoyed traveling the world and visiting former students and their families.
