The Roland Manzi Jr. Memorial Scholarship

Established October 8, 1997

By the Roland Manzi Family

Roland Manzi, Jr. was a life-long resident of Woodbury and a graduate of the Woodbury school system. He worked in sales in the family insurance business, Woodbury Insurance Agency.

His many interests included gourmet cooking and gardening, and he especially liked growing flowers. In fact, he often said that if he wasn’t in insurance, he would have loved to own a garden shop.

Roland also took an active interest in politics. He was a member of the Woodbury Democratic Town Committee, and was a Justice of the Peace.

In honor of Roland’s interests, the Roland Manzi, Jr. Scholarship is awarded to a student entering any of the following fields of study: horticulture or vocational/agriculture, nature, gardening, culinary arts, or political science.
